Engage and Immerse

Living the Good Life at Boulay

Passion for success is where it all begins. At Boulay we inspire remarkable careers focused on creating life-long friendships among our team members, offering flexibility and resources to meet your personal and professional goals, and celebrating your achievements.

Engage-Immerse

Celebrations

While it is easy to get caught up in filing deadlines or client projects, it’s often the smaller accomplishments along the way that show us progression or success. At Boulay, we celebrate little and big milestones – both personal and professional.

Team Celebrations

Each month, we celebrate work anniversaries and birthdays.

Department and Firm Socials

Firm-wide and department social events are planned throughout the year to get to know your colleagues away from work. It’s a great time to connect in person, especially with team members who work remotely and out-of-state.

Busy Season Activities and Celebrations

Busy seasons can be demanding on our teams; therefore we provide various busy season activities to help team members refuel and recharge. Past events included lunches, games, challenges, and trivia. In the spring we enjoy a firm-wide celebration recognizing the work accomplished over the past months.

Boulay Blasts

Firm-wide emails announce personal and professional milestones and licensure accomplishments.

Holiday Party

Each year, we host a gathering for our team members to celebrate the holiday season. Past events included indoor mini golf, dinners, casino nights, game show battles, and standup comedy.

Recognition Program

Colleagues celebrate each other by giving recognition in Boulay’s performance development system, Quantum Workplace. Recognition is given as a sign of appreciation for individuals going above and beyond their job duties all while demonstrating the Boulay Eight. The recipient of the recognition receives a digital gift card.

Work Structure

At Boulay, we know that flexibility in how you accomplish your work is key, which is why we offer the following to allow you to complete your work in a way that works for all.

Location for Your Day

Team members determine where they believe their workday should occur, based on their department’s needs. This means work can be completed from somewhere other than a Boulay office; generally, this is a home office or cabin.

Core hours
Within scheduled office hours (8:00am – 4:30pm CT), full-time team members working either in the office or remotely, are expected to be available for work during the core work hours of 9:00am – 3:00pm CT each day. These core hours are designated as the period of the workday when you need to be available for clients and other team members. Flexibility in your arrival and departure schedule around these core hours may be available if discussed with your Primary Advisor or Department Leader. A full-time schedule includes typically working a minimum of 8 hours per day.
Personalized Schedule Arrangements

There may be times in your career where you want to scale back your hours to meet the needs of both home and work. We work with you to determine what schedule might fit your season of life best. Learn more.

Technology, Software, Equipment/Infrastructure

Boulay is committed to ensuring all team members have access to and technical support for equipment and technology to perform your role. Boulay’s in-house Information Technology and Security provides a help desk to team members, which offers timely and effective support with computer or software issues. The IT team also provides: back-office systems to support the firm’s daily operations; automation for a variety of business tasks; access to technical information and resources; custom application development; business intelligence to help collect, report on and analyze data; and, IT security to protect the firm’s information and systems from unauthorized parties.

Dress for Your Day

Boulay team members contribute to the corporate culture and reputation in the way they present themselves. While a professional appearance is important for a favorable impression with clients, prospects, referral sources and vendors, there are times when more casual attire is an appropriate choice for the day’s activities. This policy allows our professionals to maximize comfort, while maintaining a professional image, whether working in the office or remotely and participating in virtual meetings.

Community

From volunteering to connecting with your colleagues, Boulay strives to offer perks and opportunities to enjoy life outside of work.

Culture & Inclusion Committee

Boulay’s Culture & Inclusion Committee is comprised of approximately 12 team members from varying departments and levels across the firm. These team members work to execute inclusive strategic initiatives and planning, while serving as advocates and influencers at the firm. Learn more about Boulay's Culture & Inclusion initiatives.

Employee Resource Groups

Boulay currently has three Employee Resource Groups (ERGs)—voluntary, team member–led communities that unite individuals with shared identities or experiences. These groups foster connection, support, and professional growth while enhancing team member engagement, strengthening belonging, and providing leadership development opportunities for group leaders.

  • Women’s Inclusion Network Group for Success (WINGS)
  • Remote Employees Advocating for Connection and Harmony (REACH)
  • Enhancing Mental Peace, Optimism, Wellness, Empathy and Resilience (EMPOWER)
Firm-Sponsored Interest Groups (B-Active)

Through Boulay’s B-Active group, team members are encouraged to form sports, hobby, or interest groups that promote community and connection. Current and past groups have included books clubs and sport teams, such as volleyball, softball, kickball, basketball, and bowling—just a few examples of the many local leagues and activities where team members can connect across the firm and showcase their competitive (or simply social) side.

Bvolve

Innovation committee comprised of members across the firm who research and develop new internal or external client offerings.

Paid Volunteer Hours
Each fiscal year, team members are allowed to spend up to 8 hours volunteering at various firm-sponsored community events.
